BCS Medians Survey FAQ

What are our goals:

  • The removal of all or most of the medians in our cities and reform of the ones that are truly needed. (Such as beveling the edges, bright reflective paint, and shortening their intrusion into an intersection, etc.)

  • Making our voices heard, the goal is 30k petition signatures.

  • We are NOT here to “punish” the politicians, it’s easier to try and help them fix the mistakes that were made.  However, they do need to be held accountable for the performance of their duties.

  • Trace the money and agenda for answers.

  • Fundraising, there are lots of costs to accomplish what we want done.

  • Local Business involvement, most businesses affected are ready for a change.  Ask for donations, a spot to leave some cards and handout materials, and Placement of Decals on their doors with our QR code and message on them.

What is our plan of attack:

  • We are targeting the main area of concern first, the removal of all of the new medians that have been installed on Texas Ave. From University Drive to Old Hearne Rd.  Our next areas to target should be Briarcrest/Villa Maria, University Dr East of Texas Ave. Harvey Rd., and other cross streets that now have problems due to the medians.  This is where we need people on the ground to find these areas.

  • We need to get on the Bryan City Council agenda to voice our concerns as they won’t allow public speaking.  The City of College Station will hear public concerns at their meetings.

  • We are a grassroots movement of concerned citizens trying to help our cities, we will NOT be staging Protests or the like.  Our strength is the power of our collective that will help us win the fight.

  • Possibly support other candidates in future elections.

Who is on our team:

  • We are a team of volunteering concerned citizens from various backgrounds joining together to make a change.

  • We are hoping that our efforts will steer some politicians back to serving the people as they were elected to do.

  • Our efforts here in B/CS could spark up a similar movement across Texas as we are not alone in Median misery.  Hopefully, Governor Abbott gets wind of us and tries to help, after all, TXDOT is under his watch.
